Chad
The Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC) has granted Chad an accumulative two terms 50 billion FCFA loan intended to finance infrastructural projects. The agreements relating to these loans were signed on February 5.
The first phase of the loan, which amounts to 25 billion FCFA, will finance the development and the construction of a 109 km road which connects Kélo town to Pala.
The road is an important link in connecting five towns near the border of Cameroon. This will facilitate agro-product flow from the rich areas serviced by the link toward the major centers of consumption.
The second loan is aimed at improving the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the airport facilities in Amdjarasss, Faya Largeau and Moundou.
This will specifically develop infrastructure and modern equipment to help in navigation, safety, security and reception of passengers in accordance with international standards.
Chad has now accumulated a total of 325 billion FCFA loan granted by the BDEAC since 2003.
